Teaching and Research in field of general microbiology, molecular ecology of host-bacterium interaction and immunodiagnostics in agriculture.
At ICAR – Indian Agricultural Research Institute taught for five decades microbiology and immunology at post graduate level. Guided 16 Ph.D. and 7 M.Sc. students for their theses and as Member Research Advisory Committee of 58 postgraduate students. Trained faculty from India and abroad in immunodiagnostics of soil microorganisms and plant- enzymes. Course Director or Resource Person in Summer/Winter Schools, Special Trainings and FDP’s.
Research for four decades in field of molecular ecology of host bacterium interaction in India and abroad (IARI, University of Otago, New Zealand, USDA-ARS, Maryland NifTAL, University of Hawaii, USA) and that yielded 149 publications. Many research findings were the first reports. Participated in more than 60 national and international conferences as either Speaker or Panelist or Sectional Chairman. Life Member of scientific societies like, AMI, SPBB, Noni, SBAM, NABS, etc.

He retired as a faculty of Industrial Tribology Machine Dynamics & Maintenance Engineering Centre (ITMMEC) – started initially as an Indo-Norwegian collaboration programme - , IIT Delhi in June 2007. In his 30 years of independent R&D experience at IITD, before joining BPIT as Professor and Deputy Director in September 2008, he had to his credit more than 75 industrial consultancies in condition monitoring of rotating machines through lubricant and wear debris analysis, assessment of residual life of power plant lubricants and boundary lubrication. He has successfully used his knowledge and training in chemistry in development of methodologies for industrial problem solving for BHEL, NTPC, and TOTAL Lubricants and other industries.
During his fellowship of Norwegian agency for development, NORAD in 1980 and 1986 in the national technical university of Norway, NTH at Trondheim, he worked in the area of chemistry of lubricants and wear debris analysis techniques such as ferrography for machine health monitoring and visited many European universities and industries in Norway, Sweden, Germany and England. Under the Indo-Norwegian programme of infrastructure development he was deputed for development of a central facility of combined gas chromatography and mass spectrometry at IITD. The project entailed the setting up of the laboratory, procurement of the latest GC-MS system and allied equipment and 6-week hands-on training at JEOL Ltd., Tokyo, Japan in 1982. He remained in charge of the GC-MS and ICP-Emission Spectroscopy central facilities of IIT Delhi for more than 15 and 10 years respectively.
He has guided 4 Ph.D. and 20 M.Tech. theses and published/presented more than 30 papers in international and national journals/conferences. He has delivered a large number of lectures on lubrication and lubricants in short-term in-plant training courses in Tribology and Maintenance Engineering in major steel and power plants of the country. He coordinated the M.Tech programme of Industrial Tribology and Maintenance Engineering of IITD for 3 years. His total teaching experience at post graduate (M.Tech and Pre-PhD), and under-graduate levels in IIT Delhi and BPIT amounts to 36 years.

Dr. Nidhi Sharma one of the founder faculty of this institute. She has rich R&D experience along with teaching experience at undergraduate (BE, B.Tech) and P.G (M.Sc) level. She has been associated with GGSIPU for past 13 years. Prior to that, she worked in Delhi College of Engineering (now DTU), Jiwaji University, Gwalior and also worked as Scientist in leading pharmaceutical R&D centre. She received Senior research fellowship from Ministry of Environment and Forest during her Ph.D. She has 20 international and national publications in high impact factor research journals. Her area of interest is Environment Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and Environmental modeling and research. She got teaching excellence award in the institute for Applied Chemistry in year 2015-2016. She also holds the administrative responsibility of Controller of Examination in the institute since August 2015.
Dr. Poonam Kathuria has rich industrial experience serving as Industrial consultant with "R S consultants and Engineers" and senior manager marketing in Poly Blends India, Manesar. She was co-editor for an industrial magazine "Entrepreneur Digest". She has also worked for various assignments and Entrepreneur development workshops for FLO-FICCI.
She has taught at Delhi Technological University (DTU) as guest faculty for 4 years and regular faculty at HMR-ITM (GGSIPU) for 2.5 years. She is also the cultural coordinator for the institute.

Dr. Vandana Shahi completed her B. Sc. from Delhi University and M. Sc., Ph. D. from Department of Chemistry, IIT Delhi. She qualified NET in 2004 and was awarded Junior and Senior Research Fellowship by CSIR (July 2004 – July 2006 and Aug 2006-June 2009 respectively). She has taught in reputed educational institutions such as Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) before joining BPIT. She has published in various high impact peer-reviewed journals and presented in many national/international conferences.
